Ka'aguy Poty é uma Tekoa (aldeia Guarani) no município de Iguapé, no interior de São Paulo, que luta pelo reconhecimento de sua terra. Apesar de ter sido reconhecida pela Funai (Fundação Nacional dos Povos Indígenas), a terra ainda não foi demarcada, e ela está também resistindo à invasões de júrua (não-indígenas) que entram para extrair materiais ou se apropriar das terras.

A Tekoa Pindo Ty também busca pela demarcação de seu território, além de estar na luta por uma educação de qualidade e pela soberania alimentar através de plantios agroflorestais e criação de peixes.

Pindo ty: Construção de seis caixas d'água e colocação dos peixes que serão criados

Para a construção, será necessário:

6 caixas d'água de 1000L (R$404,00 cada), 100 mangueiras (R$3,00 cada), 12 válvulas para controle de vazão (R$38,00 cada), seis registros (R$13,00 cada), seis facões (R$ 40,00 cada), seis serrinhas (R$25,00 cada), seis adesivos de conexão (R$29,00 cada), 50 rações para peixes (R$20,00 cada), e ajuda de custo para o mutirão (transporte e alimentação, R$550,00 no total).

Valor total: R$5.872,00 ($1121,53)

Ka'aguy Poty:Transporte de água até o tanque e povoamento de peixes.

Para colocar os tanques em funcionamento, é necessário: 600 mangueiras (R$1380, no total), sete conectores (R$1,50 cada), 250 alevinos (R$2,00 cada) e50 rações para peixes (R$20,00 cada).

Help the Guarani Mbya in Brazil move towards food sovereignty

This campaign was created to support two communities of the Guarani Mbya people in the State of São Paulo who are working on their food production as they fight for their ancestral lands.

The communities of the Vale da Ribeira Region, Tekoa Kaaguy Poty and Tekoa Pindo Ty will build water tanks to raise pirá (fish).

English transcript:

Today we are here where the fish tank will be installed, and we are asking for help so we can accomplish our goal. We want to show to those that are young how raising fish works so in the future they know how to do it themselves in the community.

Ka'aguy Poty is a Tekoa (Guarani village) in the city of Iguapé in the interior of the state of São Paulo that is fighting for the recognition of their right to their land. Despite being recognized by Funai (National Foundation of the Indigenous Peoples), the land hasn't been demarcated by the government, and it is currently fighting against invasions by the júrua (non-indigenous people) who come in to extract materials or to claim land.

Tekoa Pindo Ty is also seeking for the demarcation of their territory, and they are currently fighting for a better education and for the establishment of food sovereinty through agroforestry and pisciculture.

Budget

Pindo ty: Construction of six water tanks and filling them with fish to be raised. 

In order to set up the tanks, we will need:

6 1000L water boxes (R$ 404,00 each), 100 hoses (R$ 3,00 each), 12 valves to control the flow of water (R$ 38 each), six registers (R$ 13,00 each), six machetes (R$ 40,00 each), six hacksaws (R$ 25,00 each), six tube glues (R$ 29,00), 50 units of fish meal (R$ 20,00 each) and supplies for the task force (fuel and food) that is going to implement the tanks (R$ 550,00)

Total value: R$5.872,00 (U$1421,23)

Ka'aguy Poty:  Transporting water to the tanks and getting them started

In order to get the tanks started we need:

600 hoses (R$1380), seven conectors (R$ 1,50 each), 250 fingerlings (R$2,00 each) and 50 units of fish meal (R$ 29,00 each)
